Grievances
In exceptional circumstances you may be able to submit a grievance against the decision of one of the bodies or processes below.
Please note carefully that you must be able to meet one or both of the following criteria for submitting a grievance:
(a) procedural irregularity in the conduct of the previous stage;
(b) there are relevant exceptional circumstances (with verifiable evidence) that you did not include at the previous stage and / or there is new, verifiable evidence (of procedural irregularity or exceptional circumstances) that you could not present at the previous stage, and there is a valid reason for not making the circumstances and / or evidence known at the time.
Examples of verifiable evidence that are normally accepted by the University are provided in the Exceptional Circumstances Code of Practice, Section 2.3.6.
Grievances will not be accepted and will not be considered if you do not meet one of the above criteria. Simply not agreeing with the outcome of the previous stage is not grounds for submitting a grievance.
