Welcome to your Library: Academic Skills and In a Nutshell workshops
A warm welcome to our new and returning students to the 2024/2025 academic year!
Your libraries run regular 45-minute workshops and webinars introducing you to our resources and they provide you with hints and tips to get the most out of your library and its resources. The sessions, run by our Liaison Librarians, cover everything from ebooks and reading lists to how to find journal articles and managing your references.
Our ... In a Nutshell workshops are held either online via Teams or in-person in the IDS PC training suite in the Campus Library building. You can look at the latest available sessions on our ... In a Nutshell session calendar and click the registration link by each available session to sign-up! And don’t worry if you can’t attend as our students can watch our handy topical videos and sways too.
There’s also specialist training and support available at the Health Library for our health students too!
Additionally, there’s also our Academic and Digital Skills team who can help you to build the essential academic skills needed to succeed in your studies at Keele University. They have a range of online resources you can access and work through, including study guides and Study Matters Podcast episodes on time management, reading for academic purposes, planning and writing assignments, acting on feedback, and more!
They also offer workshops, weekly drop-in sessions, and one-to-one coaching appointments to help boost your academic skills too.
As always, don’t forget that you can contact the Academic and Digital Skills team as well as your subject Liaison Librarian for help and support!
