Day Loan Laptops
Have you ever been in a position where you needed access to a laptop but didn’t have one?
The Library has convenient day-loan laptops that are available in lockers located on the Middle Floor near to the self-service machines!
These day-loan laptops have a maximum charge of eight hours and are easy to borrow and return. To borrow the day-loan laptops:
- Touch ‘borrow’ on the screen
- Tap your Keele card against the reader under the screen
- Read and accept the terms of use
- Your assigned locker will flash (the number will also appear on the screen)
- Tap your Keele card on the reader on the locker column
- Open the locker and retrieve the laptop
- Remember to close the locker door and click ‘finish’ on the screen!
To return the day-loan laptops (just make sure you’re logged out of the laptop first):
- Touch ‘return’ on the screen
- Tap your Keele card against the reader under the screen
- Your assigned locker will flash (the number will also appear on the screen too)
- Open the locker, plug the cable into the laptop and put the laptop back into the locker
- Close the locker door and check that the red light next to it is on
- Click ‘finish’ on the screen and you’re all done!
Remember to bring your Keele card with you as you will need it and that you must return the laptop by the time stated on your loan confirmation email and on your library account. There’s even a handy video with step-by-step instructions too!
