Search

Library Search is our library search engine which lets you find and access academic resources easily by providing a one-stop search for books, ebooks, journals, articles and more. You can also check your library account and request books using Library Search.
To use Library Search, enter your search terms into the search box and using the filters, you can refine your results.

You can watch our Introduction to Library Search videos and our Library Search Playlist to find out more about using Library Search.

‘Library... in a Nutshell’ is our series of interactive online modules giving you the chance to practise using Library Search.

Talis is our online reading lists system and this is where you can access the recommended reading for your modules. You can search for a reading list by module title or code, and when viewing your list, you can use the online resource button links to directly access the resources.

The Library runs workshops on how to access the recommended reading for your modules. See our library events page for availability and to book 'Reading lists... in a nutshell'. Not suitable for Veterinary Medicine students, please ask your Librarian for reading list information.

Unable to attend? The ‘Reading lists... in a Nutshell’ online module introduces you to the online reading lists system, or alternatively, take a look at our Reading lists... in a Nutshell video, which provides a short overview of the online reading lists service.

Your subject resource pages contain key recommendations and resources for each school, from databases to ebooks, as well as help, guidance and other useful links.

The A-Z of online resources allows you to search and access all of our online resources in alphabetical order.

Google Scholar is an index that allows you to search for academic or scholarly content. For easy access, if using a personal device the first time you do so, you should link your account to Keele subscriptions to give you quick access to full-text articles -

  1. Go to Google Scholar and click the menu option
  2. From the drop-down menu, select the settings option
  3. Select the library links option
  4. Search for "Keele University"
  5. Tick the check box for "Keele University - View Online@Keele" and click save
  6. When you next run a search in Google Scholar, you will see the "View Online@Keele" link which will take you to the full-text options

If you are using a Keele device, this should be automatically set up.

The Library runs workshops on how to evaluate your search results: learn how to filter your search results, discover tools to help you evaluate resources, and save relevant readings. See our library events page for availability and to book 'Evaluating your search results... in a nutshell'.
