Biography
Dr Piat is Teaching Fellow in Bioscience at the School of Life Sciences. They obtained their Bachelor's in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford (Magdalen College), before completing a DPhil in molecular plant pathology at the same university. Their thesis title is "Investigating temperature effects on bacterial infections of common bean". For this project, she was co-supervised by Professor Gail Preston, Dr Nick Kruger (University of Oxford) and Dr Leighton Pritchard (University of Strathclyde). She has a passion for teaching, bioinformatics, plant pathology and bacterial genomics.
