Biography

Lakamy is using CRISPR tools to study Anopheles gambiae mosquito male fertility and develop new technologies to control malaria. He shares is time between Keele and Bamako (Mali) where he is co-investigator of a B&M Gates funded project to establish an African Center of Excellence in Molecular Engineering (ACEME) in Mali. When not dealing with mosquitoes or in his lab/office he likes to spend time with his family, walking and travelling to discover new places and meet new people.
