Biography

Dr George has held a part-time lectureship at Keele University since 2016 with a focus on energy systems, environment, circularity, and Green IT. He has extensive experience of research and development, and commercialising innovation in advanced technological and industrial applications. He was Head of Computational Modelling at Lucideon (previously Ceram) between 1996 to 2009, responsible for delivering a wide range of commercial computational modelling projects to customers ranging from advanced materials to aerospace and defence.

Simon is also the founder and the Managing Director of NovaSci Ltd, a company the offers bespoke services in data visualisation including digital twin technology, as well as design for emerging technologies, and fast-evolving systems.

He has 30 years’ experience of business engagement: working with sectors from basic manufacturing to defence and construction. Management of projects spans departments with diverse project teams across private and public sector organisations. He holds a BSc in physics and physical electronics from Bath University, an MSc in mechatronics from Hull University and a PhD in engineering from Aberdeen University.
