Biography
Following an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy, Dr Konstantinou obtained an MSc in manual therapy in 1998 and a PhD in 2002. She joined Keele in 2005 to hold a joint research and clinical post. Dr Konstantinou is a Consultant Spinal Physiotherapist and the lead of the Spinal Service at the Haywood Hospital (Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) and a Senior Clinical Lecturer.
Research and scholarship
Dr Konstantinou’s interests are in trials and epidemiology, predominantly in the field of spinal musculoskeletal pain including sciatica, and in other musculoskeletal problems, and in care pathways for patients with spinal musculoskeletal pain. In 2010 she was awarded a three year NIHR CNO Clinical Lectureship for epidemiological research into sciatica, and in 2013 a five year HEFCE Senior Clinical Lectureship.
Teaching
Dr Konstantinou regularly teaches medical students in clinics, and supervises PhD and MSc students.
