Biography
Krysia joined Keele in 2022 as Research Fellow in Involvement and Engagement for the NIHR-funded three schools improving involvement of underserved groups in mental health research programme. After graduating with an honours degree in law in 1994, Krysia undertook a PhD examining the experiences of pregnant women in prison, followed by postdoctoral positions at St George’s Hospital Medical School and the University of Liverpool. She has since held senior research posts at the University of Oxford, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Leeds.
Research and scholarship
Krysia’s research aims to document and improve understanding of the often unanticipated harms caused by interventions to marginalised and vulnerable populations with a view to improving the appropriateness and accessibility of policies and services. She uses qualitative methods and public involvement to develop insights into the experiences and perspectives of these often underserved and seldom-heard populations.
