Biography

Scott is a BACP registered and accredited Person-Centred Counsellor/Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Lecturer/Trainer. Currently in private practice in the Shropshire area. Current lecturer on the Counselling & Psychotherapy MSc programme at Keele University. Initially trained and qualified from University of Brighton in 2013. Going on to gain further diploma’s in working with CYP (Children & Young People) and working in OPT (online and telephone counselling). Some of his previous working experiences as a counsellor included working alongside carers, working in a addiction focussed charity, working at young people’s drop in centre, as well as working in many secondary schools offering school based counselling services. He later obtained an MSc in Psychotherapy in 2020 from University of Salford, and whilst there qualified as a Supervisor. It was during this time at Salford when he carried out research, and published an article into the experiences of bereaved fathers under the title of ‘Fathers: The Forgotten Mourners’ – some of which was based around his 9+ years of working for a Children’s Hospice, working alongside bereaved fathers. As well as a passionate interest in working alongside grief and working with CYP, one of his constant areas of reflection in his work is encouraging men into therapeutic spaces.
