Earth science subjects at Keele rank among UK’s best in National Student Survey

Keele’s environmental and earth science related degrees have ranked among the UK’s best for student positivity in a prestigious national ranking.
The results of the 2023 National Student Survey (NSS) have seen a number of courses from Keele’s School of Geography, Geology, and the Environment performing strongly, with Environmental Science placing 8th, Geography 12th, Physical Geography 16th, and Geology 18th in the UK.
The NSS is a high-profile annual survey of nearly half a million final year undergraduate students across the UK. The survey gathers opinions from students about their time in higher education, asking them to provide honest feedback on what is has been like to study on their course at their university or college.
Students are asked to indicate how positively they feel about their course using a number of different aspects, including teaching, support, and resources.
Professor Clare Holdsworth, Head of the School of Geography, Geology and the Environment at Keele, said: “We are delighted with the results of this year's National Student Survey that demonstrate the dedication of staff in the School of Geography, Geology and the Environment to deliver an excellent student experience and Keele's excellence and breadth in teaching about global environmental challenges.”
