Keele Professor awarded prestigious Fellowship from the Queen’s Nursing Institute
A Keele University professor has been named as a Fellow of the Queen’s Nursing Institute in recognition of her significant contribution to nursing.
Professor Julie Green, Head of Keele’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, is just one of six to be awarded this prestigious Fellowship in 2021.
The QNI is the oldest professional nursing organisation in the UK and is dedicated to improving the nursing care of people in the home and community. Fellowship of the QNI was introduced with the aim of creating a body of support to provide professional advice, and field intelligence, on practice, research, policy and heath service management.
This news comes just months after Professor Green was also named as a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) in recognition of her dedication to the field of nursing.
Professor Green said: “District and community nursing has been central throughout my career, and I aim to use every opportunity to raise the profile of this frequently overlooked workforce.
“The work of the Queen's Nursing Institute in this area and their reputable and effective voice for this workforce is inspirational. To be awarded Fellowship of the QNI is an absolute honour; I am humbled to join such an auspicious group of colleagues.”
