Fox and Badger unit
24–36 months approximately
Staff ratio 1:5
In the Fox and Badger unit we encourage toilet training to prepare for the pre-school unit (Owl & Otter), we also have a window to the Owl room so that the children get used to seeing into the room to aid transition.
We learn and follow our Rainbow rules and start to introduce phonics by singing the Jolly Jingle every day. For numeracy we sing the Ten Town song daily, these change every month.
Children take part in weekly Forest school classes, this is done on a rota system so that all children will get the chance to take part.
Children are encouraged to pour their own milk and water and to serve their own lunches, they scrape away any leftover food on their plates.
We look after the allotment, growing our own fruit and vegetables.
We use free flow all through the year & we also have a fish we take care of called Grass.
