Come along to our Community Day at Keele University on Sunday 31 May 2015 and prepare to be amazed! Enter ‘The Lost World’ and discover planets, bugs and a Jurassic experience you’ll never forget. Explore our beautiful woodland estate steeped in history and hidden treasures, enjoy even more sports, arts and cultural activities including ‘Stilt Acrobats’ and a festival-topping, ‘Centre-Stage’ line-up, including our Sci-Fi Celebrity. The Great Keele Bake-Off is back as well as Stoke City’s Penalty Shoot-Out, Giant Zorbs, mind-blowing Hands-On Science and the famous Taiko Drummers. This year will see even more refreshment outlets offering a wide-ranging taste of local produce! Check out the different zones on the beautiful Keele campus:
Zone 1 – The Lost World
segways Discover Dinosaurs- You'll likely to find yourself on the trail of a missing T-Rex and thats before the movie...A Jurassic experience you'll never forget!
Segways- Have a go on our Segways...Test your balance by shifting the Segway with your weight forwards and backwards!
Observatory- Visit the Keele Observatory and journey into outer space. Get close to the Moon, star clusters and even the Sun!
planet Planetary Trail- Walk along our Planetary trail, discover the planets in our solar system and absorb the beautiful woodland surrounds.
Stardome Experience- Enter the Stardome and take a trip through the Galaxy and Solar System and discover why Earth is our ideal planet for survival.
Zone 2 – Hands-On Discovery
Graffitti Chancellor's And MacKay building will be holding fun and interactive activities for all ages. Look under a microscope, check out your digestive system, check your pulse and get your hands dirty with slime at our hands-on science roadshow in the exhibition suite, with lots more activities taking place...
Visit the current exhibition- 'Metabolic Landscape' in the Art Gallery, find out more about this exhibition.
Experience cyber anatomy, where you can journey through the human body in 3D.
Visit our 'KAVE' and find out what is like to be a Hospital Pharmacist for the day with this physical, three dimensional environment where you can meet virtual patients, pick up and interact with digital objects, float molecules in mid-air and move them around and step inside the virtual body to see muscles, skeletons and organs in 3D!
Plus there's a whole range of science experiments to have a go at...
Zone 3 – Just for Kicks!
Stoke city f c Cheerleading- Gimmee a 'K'- Meet the Keele Cheerleaders and have a go at being part of this amazing team
Football Zorbs- Take part in this hilarious 5 a-side match...add some bounce to your day
Falconry Displays- get up close to majestic Harris Hawks, Owls, Buzzards and many more birds of prey...
Stoke City F.C- Penalty Shoot-out with Pottermus
A whole range of inflatable fun including Zorbs!
Zone 4 – Centre Stage
The Centre Stage Zone where all the live performances will be happening and supported by Signal 1. We’ve got the very up and coming Tom Jarvis, the famous Taiko Drummers are back plus, a very special Sci-Fi guest who’ll be officially opening the event and making a few appearances.
This fourth zone is located right at the heart of the beautiful Keele campus near Union Square and included in the line-up here are stilt acrobats! This year also sees vendors in all the activity zones offering a range of local produce to tempt your taste-buds plus face painting and balloons for the children!
Zone 5 – Hidden Treasures
Explore the hidden treasures at our stunning Grade two listed building and get involved in some great activities including:

View our collection of historic Mason’s Ironstone China in our Raven Mason Suite
