Keele Postgraduate Support Scheme Scholarships

Posted on 24 February 2015

Keele University is delighted to announce over 70 new Postgraduate Support Scheme Scholarships of £10,000, supported jointly by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the University.  The scholarships cover a wide range of master’s courses at Keele, which start in autumn 2015. The funding has been awarded under HEFCE’s Postgraduate Support Scheme, which is designed to encourage progression by under-represented UK and EU students into taught postgraduate education.

As required by HEFCE, scholarships will be awarded to postgraduate students with UK (home) or EU fee status, who started their undergraduate courses in 2012/13, and were charged the higher fees of £6,000 - £9,000 at a university in England. The scholarships cover both one-year full-time and two-year part-time master’s courses, and span the full academic range of Keele’s postgraduate taught courses.

The scholarships will be awarded to students who meet some or all of the following criteria*:

·         From a low participation neighbourhood (LPN)

·         Disabled

·         Care leaver

·         Asylum seeker

·         Female applying for a masters course in a STEM subject**

If you receive an offer of a place and are eligible for the Postgraduate Support Scheme Scholarships, we will then invite you to complete a dedicated scholarship application form.

In addition to the Postgraduate Support Scheme Scholarships, a range of other financial support is available to all new masters and doctoral students from across the globe, starting in 2015/16. For further details please visit www.keele.ac.uk/kgb
