Keele top for graduate employment in 2016
We aim to give our students a broad-based education that integrates knowledge, skills and attitudes that are clearly valued by employers in all areas.
Keele University was today been identified as 1st for graduate employment amongst broad based Universities in the UK, with 97.5% of our graduates were in employment and/or further study six months after graduating.
Indicators for employment of leavers are published today on the HESA website. Keele also impressed by improving its employment rate by 1.7 per cent year-on-year.
The full tables show the indicators for every HE provider in the UK alongside their benchmark. The full breakdown shows that once small, specialist providers are excluded, Keele is the top performer.
The statistics are based on the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey which asked leavers from higher education in 2014/15 what they were doing six months after graduation.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Trevor McMillan comments: “This is excellent news for Keele University. We aim to give our students a broad-based education that integrates knowledge, skills and attitudes that are clearly valued by employers in all areas. As a research led university balancing academic excellence with the broader student experience, we are delighted to be in a leading position in graduate employment.
“As the university sector gives greater focus to teaching standards and value for students, this table shows that the combination of being a smaller university, single campus based and research active, enables Keele to be a leading higher education provider.”
