Postgraduate Conference 2016
Postgraduate Conference 2016
Outside the Frame: Thinking and Engaging Differently
18 April 2016 12:00 - 4:00pm Keele Hall Ballroom
Second call for abstracts: Deadline 29 March 2016
All Postgraduates are invited to present their research, dissertation project and course-related posters to a cross disciplinary audience of peers, students and staff at the Institute of the Liberal Arts and Sciences' first postgraduate conference.
This is an opportunity to communicate your work in an accessible and inspiring way to an informed, but non-specialist audience. Projects should be presented as posters, although artefacts or performance may also be offered. You are encouraged to share your work in progress and the focus should be on effective and engaging communication.
This conference offers the opportunity to experiment with presenting research projects in this alternative format and to gain valuable experience of public engagement. That’s not all, it’s a chance to appreciate the range and diversity of students’ work at Keele and interactions on the day will prompt fresh thinking about connections across disciplines and aspects of your own work.
The programme will include:
- An inspiring talk by Professor David Amigoni 'Beyond Disciplines, Poster Impact: Patrick Geddes and the Science of Society, then and now'
- Poster competition with prizes
- Refreshments
- Plus, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) for those who would like to present their work orally
