Acclaimed author to front new creative research summer school at Keele University
Dr Helen Kara, author of popular book Creative Research Methods in the Social Sciences: A Practical Guide, will be the facilitator at the Creative Research Methods Summer School, at Keele University and the New Vic Theatre on July 6-8, 2017.
The event is aimed at PhD students and Early Career Researchers, who can purchase a limited numbers of tickets for the inaugural event (organised by the Community Animation and Social Innovation Centre (CASIC) at Keele University).
Dr Kara said: “I am very much looking forward to speaking at the event at the New Vic and Keele in July and am excited to hear from the other fantastic speakers. The event is for early career researchers but is really open to anyone interested in the benefits of creative research methods.”
“I have a background of employment in the private, public, and voluntary sectors, and now do commissioned research and evaluation, mainly for public and voluntary sector organisations and partnerships. My research areas are social care, health, and the voluntary/third sector.
“Early bird tickets are limited so I would encourage people to book them now and be ready for an extremely interesting few days.”

Ticket holders will have the opportunity to experience the KAVE and Keele University’s Makerspace facilities.
Early bird tickets are being offered at £230, if purchased before May 31. The ticket value after May 31 will be £270. Tickets includes refreshments and lunches and a complimentary copy of Dr Kara's book.
There will be a dinner and performance of 'Around the world in 80 Days' at the New Vic Theatre on July 6th, for a £20 supplement.
The Summer School is expected to enlighten, inspire and guide researchers and students at all stages of their career or doctorate. Each day will be packed with interactive hands-on sessions addressing six broad topics including arts-based research; transformative research frameworks; Mixed-methods research; Knowledge co-production; Research using technology and Writing creatively for research.
