Keele has been ranked in the top ten of four categories at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2017, all recognising the incredible student experience that the University offers.

Keele was shortlisted at this year’s awards for its Students’ Union, Job Prospects, Student Support, and Giving Back to the local community, with nominations based on outstanding reviews by the University’s own students.

The Whatuni Student Rankings are based on averages taken from reviews submitted by over 25,000 students and published on the Whatuni.com website. They offer prospective students an unbiased, student-led alternative to traditional university ranking systems.

This year, 125 universities met the minimum threshold to be considered for a Student Choice Award, and 39 universities received a nomination.

Vice-Chancellor of Keele University, Professor Trevor McMillan, said: “It’s incredibly pleasing to see Keele receive top rankings in areas which we really pride ourselves on - especially as these awards are voted for by students themselves. Keele offers students the highest quality university experience, and reaching the top ten in four key categories is a great reflection of what we have to offer.

“We are thrilled that Keele students have rated the University so highly in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards. We will continue our efforts to support our students and consistently go the extra mile.”

Aaron Porter, Director of Insights, Hotcourses Group, said: “This has been another significant year for the higher education sector; the progress through Parliament of a Higher Education Bill, the impending introduction of the Teaching Excellence Framework and an upcoming reorganisation of the funding and regulatory landscape herald a new landscape. On that backdrop it is particularly heartening to see that students continue to offer a ringing endorsement for the quality of their experience both inside and out of the classroom.”
