Biography

After completing a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at Staffordshire University followed by an MSc (with distinction) in Work Psychology and Business at Aston University, Debbie completed stage 2 training in Occupational Psychology to become a chartered and registered Occupational Psychologist.

Debbie has extensive teaching and curriculum development experience as a previous course leader of a BPS accredited MSc in Occupational Psychology (University of Wolverhampton) and recently developed the commended MSc Business and Organisational Psychology and MBA (Psychology) of the University of Wolverhampton Online. Debbie has supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate projects

Debbie is influential within professional fields having been among the first to champion authentic assessment in MSc Occupational Psychology. Debbie was previously the Academic Board member of the Division of Occupational Psychology Qualifications Board in the British Psychological Society and is the Quality Lead for the Association for Business Psychology certification panel.

Debbie's practitioner work includes projects in professional development and training, stress, and equality and diversity. Debbie has also completed projects in the design of work environments (including health and safety), psychometric assessment, and coaching. These projects have been completed in a variety of settings including healthcare and military contexts.

Research and scholarship

Current research activities:

Gamified learning in teams: learner engagement, teamwork, decision making, and communication in escape room exercises both online and face to face.

Communication, influence, and decision-making in academic programme development teams.
