University Chief External Examiner

The University Chief External Examiner provides an overview of the soundness and robustness of the University’s Examination Board procedures at University level. They do this by:

• Advising on:
  • Assessment and progression regulations and guidance relating to examination boards
  • The University’s degree algorithm and criteria for borderline candidates

• Contributing to the central University Examination Boards for Levels 4-6 and Reassessment Board to:
  • Confirm procedures for assessment have been followed
  • Confirm Guidance for the Examination Boards is being adhered to
  • Offer advice on matters of precedent
