Lisa Li
Lisa Li graduated in 2012, she studied Geography and Sociology. Lisa’s third year dissertation focussed on ‘scale’ and sense of space, inspired by Slin-Kachu’s work ‘Little People’, Lisa made clay models of little people engaged in different activities and used the grounds at Keele University to explore the idea of ‘scale’.
Lisa’s ‘top tips’ for a successful ‘Inspirational Landscape’ project include:
• Think as much as possible in the abstract and develop your IL project from that.
• You are free to choose any aspect of landscape, think of this as broadly and innovatively as possible.
• Location can often be essential to developing your ideas but ‘landscape’ can be various.
• Leave yourself plenty of time to complete your project. In my experience it took a lot longer than anticipated, making the clay models as part of my project.
David Macleod
David Macleod graduated in 2012. See David’s website for the details of his final year project for the ‘Inspirational Landscapes’ module: ‘Landscapes in music’. The blog explores and compares the varied perception, interpretation and expression of landscapes through music and other related art forms.
