Dr Mirna Mourtada-Maarabouni
A question with fundamental relevance to cancer biology is what determines whether cells live or die. Mirna investes the molecular machinery involved in the cell fate decision. Using in-house developed functional screen, we have characterized several long non-coding (lncRNAs) and protein phosphatases involved in the regulation of cell survival and death. Mirna is currently investigating the functional roles of these lncRNAs and phosphatases in cancer.
