Dr Patricia Ragazzon
Patricia is interested in the synthesis of small molecules, primarily polyphenols as well as large molecules: aptamers. The latter are large molecules made of nucleic acids that find and bind their targets selectively and effectively. We have developed a modified aptamer (AC3, RSC Adv) that is allowing us to study the roles of histones in cancer therapy. Her experience in the area of ADMETox has led her to work on a new model for microbiome-based studies. For this model, we combine cell culture and analytical chemistry.
