Biography
In 2013, Rebecca completed her Chemistry with Industrial Experience (MChem) degree at the University of Manchester, where she spent 12 months working in drug discovery at AstraZeneca. She stayed at the University of Manchester to carry out a BBSRC DTP PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, supervised by Prof. David Procter, where she explored copper-catalysed multicomponent reactions. Her first postdoctoral role took her the the University of Nottingham, working in the group of Prof. Hon Wai Lam. During this time she worked on multiple projects involving general transition metal-catalysed reactions and also researching the chemistry of Morphine. In 2019, she returned to the University of Manchester as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Nick Turner at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, exploring the field of biocatalysis. Rebecca joined the team at Keele as Lecturer in July 2023.
