Biography
I joined Keele’s partnership programme with Beijing Foreign Studies University in September 2019, after completing my PhD in Political Science at the National University of Singapore. Before my doctoral candidature I studied International Relations (MA) at Waseda University, Tokyo.
Research and scholarship
My research focuses on two major areas: status as a factor in international affairs, and East Asian international relations, throughout history and in our times. My current projects include a study of Ming China’s foreign policy and an exploration of the norm of sovereign equality as an international practice.
Teaching
In the academic year 2019-2020 I teach Introduction to Global Political Economy.
