Bob Gould prizeAward type: Cheque This prize was established in 2008 and commemorates Dr R D (Bob) Gould, Senior Lecturer in Physics and Electronics from 1980 until his untimely death in 2006. The prize is awarded annually on the recommendation of the Physics Final Examination Board to the student with the most outstanding performance in the third year Physics project. This prize will be listed on the HEAR, and will be announced at graduation. |
Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences Accredited University Student AwardAward type: non-monetary This prize is awarded annually by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences to each accredited university. The award is given to the top student in the Forensic Science programmes. This prize will be listed on the HEAR, and will be announced at graduation. |
Chemistry Dissertation PrizeAward type: Cheque This prize, provided by the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences, is awarded to the Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry student in their third and final year of study with the highest mark in their dissertation module. Harold Springall PrizeAward type: Cheque The Springall Prize Fund was established in 1975, on the retirement of the founding Professor of Chemistry, Professor H D Springall, by donations from former graduates and postgraduates of the Department, as a mark of their affection and esteem. The prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry exam board, for outstanding performance and academic merit, to a student chemistry or medicinal chemistry at the end of their second year of study. This prize will be listed on the HEAR. |
John Tebby PrizeAward type: Cheque Professor John Tebby was appointed to a Chair in organic chemistry at Staffordshire University in 1987 and was Head of the Department of Chemistry and Biology in 1981 until his retirement in 1998. He was a Research Associate at Keele for a number of years and was a member of the Court of Keele University from 1988 to 1998. He has served as Chairman, Vice chairman and Secretary of the Royal Society of Chemistry North Staffordshire Local Section at various times over the last 40 years. This prize, provided by the Local Section of the Royal Society of Chemistry, is awarded on the recommendation of the Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry exam board, for outstanding performance and academic merit, to a student studying chemistry or medicinal chemistry at the end of the first year of study. This prize will be listed on the HEAR. |

Shalimar Ward Memorial PrizeAward type: Book token The Shalimar Ward Memorial Trust was established to commemorate Shalimar Ward, an American student who is remembered for her enthusiastic contributions to a perse range of interests, who read Electronics and Management Science at Keele from 1986 to 1988, and who died following a cycling accident in February 1988. Two book prizes, of equal value, are awarded annually by Senate to two second year students; one studying Economics and one studying Physics. Consideration will be given to both the contributions made by the candidates to the life and well-being of the University and of their academic performance. This prize will be listed on the HEAR, and will be announced at graduation. |
The Keele Astrophysics Group PrizeAward type: Cheque The prize is to be awarded annually to the student achieving the best performance in the third year Astrophysics project. This will be assessed and ratified by the Astrophysics level 6 examination board and a recommendation made to the Head of School, who will then recommend to Senate. This prize will be listed on the HEAR, and will be announced at graduation. |
