Biography

I graduated in 2001 with a BA (Hons) 2:1 in Humanities from Nottingham Trent University, and after completing a PGCE at The University of Wales, Swansea, I taught English Language and English Literature in a secondary school for fifteen years. There, I had various teaching and management roles as well as plenty of experience teaching and leading sixth form students.

I started working full-time at Keele in January 2017. I teach four humanities modules: The Figure of the Outsider; Mental Health through the Lens of Humanities; Life for the Urban Poor (1810-1850) and Reflections of the New World (1600-1865).

I am also an Academic Mentor and a Deputy Early Resolutions Officer.
