Throughout the academic year the Outreach team at Keele University deliver a range of events for schools and colleges to inform, raise awareness and inspire students to consider applying to university.

Taster Days
Taster Days are one example of the activities we provide for schools and colleges. If you represent a school, college or other group and are interested in future taster day dates then please get in touch with the team via outreach@keele.ac.uk.
Please note that these events are intended for school groups and we are currently unable to facilitate individual bookings.
Upcoming Taster Days and Masterclasses
Social Work: The Social Work talk will provide an overview of what social work is, potential career pathways in social work, and what to expect to learn when studying to become a social worker. An overview of the application and interview process and how to prepare for these will also be given. Nursing and Midwifery: Come and see the simulation suites used for
Nursing and Midwifery! We will provide a brief overview of the programme and what to expect as a student nurse or student midwife followed by a tour of the facilities at the Clinical Education Centre, live demonstrations and have some 'hands on' experience with our nursing skills taster sessions! Paramedic Science:
Paramedic Science with Integrated Masters at Keele combines a bachelor’s degree with a fourth year of study at master’s level where you will undertake advanced level modules. This additional year gives you the expertise for future career opportunities that could take you beyond working in the ambulance service, such as careers in leadership, management or research.
The Keele University Subject Masterclass programme provides Year 12 students with a taste of what life at a research-led, campus university is like. Subject Masterclasses are free to attend and span a variety of subject areas.
On the day, students will have the opportunity to discover more about some of the programmes available at Keele University. Participating students will attend subject led taster sessions in these subjects.
Registration is now open for teachers/advisors to express an interest for their group of students to attend. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so please book early to guarantee a spot.
This masterclass will provide students an opportunity to attend taster lectures across both Law and Criminology disciplines.

What is a Taster Day?
A Taster Day is your chance to experience a day in the life of a Keele student. Designed for students in Year 12, Taster Days run in a variety of subject areas, with each one containing three taster sessions in your chosen subject, led by Keele academics. There will also be the opportunity to meet and chat with current Keele students.
Who is it for?
Our Taster Days are tailored for students currently studying in Year 12 who want to find out more about university and the subjects they may like to study. You’ll get an in-depth look at the courses that we have on offer here at Keele and what it’s like to study them, as well as valuable experiences to use in your personal statement.

Is lunch provided?
Lunch will not be provided for these events. We recommend students bring their own lunch, but there will be outlets available on campus to purchase refreshments.
