TESOL+ British Culture
Programme Detail
The new TESOL+ British Culture programme is a 3-12 week programme offering students the opportunity to achieve a Trinity Certificate in TESOL following completion of the 12 week semester-long programme. Keele has offered the Trinity Certificate in TESOL since 2003 and the qualification is accepted internationally.
The programme options are made up of:
12 weeks- Trinity CertTESOL + Culture + Language
8 weeks- Trinity Cert TESOL + Culture
3 weeks- TESOL Training/Development + Culture
What to Expect
Students will receive 1-1 tailored mentor support and develop their language awareness and development. The programme includes practical teaching methods and techniques with at least 6 hours of teaching practicals across the programme. Students will also have the opportunity to teach asylum seekers and refugees as part of the programme (subject to availablity).
Alongside TESOL teaching, students will take British Cultural Studies learning more about the British Monarchy, Dialects and Languages of the UK, the history of the British Pub, and the importance of not being English.
Those students choosing the 12 week semester-long option have the option of English language classes.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent)
- No previous teaching experience necessary
