About the programme
Create positive change, improve the lives of society’s most vulnerable and build a fulfilling career in the health and social care sector. The programme benefits from having specifically developed health and social care modules designed with a range of stakeholders and delivered by subject specialists within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, alongside complementary wider Keele University modules that encourage students to consider health and social care from a broader global perspective.
Our Health and Social Care BSc (Hons) will focus on enhancing your skills to work and lead in health and social care settings and teams, with the following objectives:
- The programme is designed for those who wish to make a difference in society, developing your knowledge, skills and professionalism in leading health and social care to meet the needs of service users, families and an impact on wider society.
- Develop a portfolio of academic, professional and digital skills preparing you for a variety of career opportunities within the ‘broader’ health and social care sectors.
- Provide a career-focused experience through placements and internships.
- Broaden your understanding of the leadership and professional skills required to build effective relationships with individuals and other organisations.
- Demonstrate your knowledge of established health and social care theories and the complex factors, such as political and cultural contexts, that influence health and social care.
- Recognise the importance of information and data and how they influence health and social care practice in the evolving global and digital landscape.
- Nurture your critical thinking and understanding of the connection between evidence and practice, and how practice can both shape and be shaped by evolving ideas in health and social care.
- Apply innovative solutions to real-world challenges that impact individuals and groups across their lifespan.
