Dig It - Grey Matters Open Day at Keele
A new group for the older community in North Staffordshire, Shropshire and South Cheshire is holding an open day at the Keele University Sustainability Hub on Tuesday, 20 March, 2012.
Project ‘Grey Matters’ at Keele is an outreach initiative at Keele aimed primarily towards the ‘ageing’ (55+) local community that was launched last year. The project provides a meeting facility and access to education programmes for the ‘older’ community, where they can engage in various educational activities and be actively involved in the Keele Campus Community.
The second meeting of the group, Dig It, will have a gardening theme and will include a series of talks on A Woodland Garden, Marcus Chilton-Jones, Curator, The Dorothy Clive Garden; Growing Healthy Trees, Peter Thomas, Deputy Head of School of Life Sciences at Keele University; Gardening needn’t cost the earth, The North Staffordshire Organic Growers; Food for Free, a workshop for all budding eco-foragers, Joanna Wright, Keele University Sustainability Hub and Go potty!! - workshops and seeds for kids, Sharon George/Joanna Wright, Keele University Sustainability Hub.
The day starts at 10 am and closes at 5.45 pm.
