Professor Pat Bailey previous Pro Vice-Chancellor for Environment and Sustainability at Keele University won the 2014 prestigious Green Gown Award for the “Leadership” category. The Awards, sponsored by the Cisco and BT education partnership, offer the opportunity to recognise leaders and driving universities and colleges working on sustainability across the UK.

Inspiring sustainability initiatives provide case studies of best practice to be shared among the sector and elsewhere. Keele University has also been highly commended for the “Continuous Improvement: Institutional Change” category highlighting the institutional commitment towards sustainability, the high level of activity and strong leadership.
