Our sustainability programmes

At Keele we run a suite of dedicated programmes for students wanting to learn more about sustainability at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

In line with our commitment for all our students to explore their discipline through a 'sustainability lens', we work with academic staff across all our Schools and Faculties to embed sustainability into degree programmes and formal learning through the 'core curriculum'.

96% of our programmes embed Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) based on the most recent curriculum review, and we are working with programme directors to identify and apply even more innovative approaches to learning and teaching to reinforce ESD at each level of study.

Undergraduate programmes

Undergraduate programmes

  • Our undergraduate courses address key challenges like climate change, pollution, and conservation. Through diverse modules covering Earth's physical and human systems, and an integrated fieldwork program, students gain valuable, transferable skills.
Global Challenge Pathway

Global Challenge Pathway

  • Many of our courses include the option to choose exciting routes of elective study called Global Challenge Pathways. These allow students to explore current debates, enhance your understanding and employability, and complement your chosen subject.
