: The Students' Union is also served by professional colleagues - among whom was Roland Hill - the Union's first Bar Steward. Roland Hill was killed in an air accident in January 1974 having served the Union since 1956. A memorial to Roland Hill is in the Union Building entrance alongside other trophies, memorials and the Honours Board of elected Officers since 1950.
