I view psychology as a way to make a significant impact. Studying psychology enables a profound understanding of human behavior. Upon entering the School of Psychology, you instantly feel a sense of belonging among like-minded individuals who are genuinely passionate about your education. There are numerous opportunities and diverse areas to explore within the field of psychology. Keele University's psychology program stands out due to its rich tradition, with over 50 years of experience in teaching psychology. Our students are at the core of everything we do, from program design to curriculum development, ensuring that our teaching caters to our students' needs.
One distinctive aspect of psychology at Keele is the flexibility it offers. Students can customize their degree to specialize in areas that interest them. Our psychology lecturers are experts in their specific research areas, which means you receive instruction from passionate individuals who deeply care about their work. This dedication to student engagement is evident in our weekly coffee hours, fostering a strong student community.
Lab studies are a valuable part of the curriculum, offering practical learning experiences with the support of dedicated lecturers. The School of Dorothy Hodgkin provides a study room that I find particularly beneficial. Additionally, we have access to specialized labs for activities such as Electroencephalograms, which allow us to examine the intricacies of the brain. Virtual reality labs and eye-tracking studies add excitement and diversity to our learning experience.
Keele University also offers substantial career support. I personally benefited from this support when securing a three-month teaching placement at a local school, providing valuable professional experience aligned with my course. One of the strengths of Keele is its availability of various Master's degrees, allowing students to delve deeper into their specific areas of interest after completing their undergraduate degree.
If you're considering attending Keele, my advice is to visit the campus. Stepping onto the campus, I immediately felt that it was the right place for me. The feeling of belonging and the right fit can only be truly understood when you step into the school and the campus. Sometimes, you just know it's the perfect choice.
