IoS - Dr Matthew Hutchinson

Hi. My name's Dr Matthew Hutchinson. I'm a lecturer in sports business management at Keele University. I do research into sport fans and e-sports fans and environmental sustainability in sport. And I did my PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University in how people become football fans. I have previous experience in a range of roles in the sports industry from sports marketing, working for an agency, charities and also in a range of roles with a Women's Football Club. 

I'm the program director for the sports business management undergraduate degree, the e-sports business management undergraduate degree, and sports business management postgraduate degree. Those are new degrees to Keele University coming in September 2024. 

These are the perfect degrees for you to give you a good understanding of how the industry is changing in the future, but also to understand how we got to where we are now from policy and governance to sports marketing, sports sponsorship and general management principles within the industry as well.
