The Geographies of Climate and Ecological Emergencies – Sustainable communities and youth for nature’s recovery in Staffordshire.
We are currently facing an environmental crisis, and it is crucial for everyone to contribute to the recovery efforts. I am Alana Wheat, and my master's project focuses on community engagement, climate issues, and conservation.
In addition to using questionnaires for community initiatives and engaging with young people, I am examining crowdsourced photographs from the people of Staffordshire to understand their perspectives on sustainability. Furthermore, I am creating a citizen science map that showcases the sustainable places and spaces adopted around Staffordshire. This map aims to highlight community efforts toward nature's recovery in Staffordshire during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project's purpose is to establish hope, connections, and partnerships while assessing the barriers and enablers for a more sustainable future. To learn more about the research project, how you can get involved, and to contact me, please visit the website www.alanawheats.com.
