Accommodation

Keele University is a campus outside of the city centre. It is around 20 40 minutes (depending on traffic) by public transport from the nearest train station (Stoke on Trent). We really recommend you live on campus, or in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent, or at the furthest, Crewe.

Imagine you have a lecture at 9am and you have to travel for an hour and a half to get to campus! It will make your life much easier (and it will be cheaper) to live in the areas mentioned above.

You could have exams on campus in January when there is a strong possibility of bad snow. If your train is cancelled because of snow (a regular occurrence), you could miss your exam and be given a fail which could have a big impact on your final grade.

Please make sure you fully research where you will live in the UK, and think about how far you are willing/able to travel to get to your classes.

You also need to consider:

  • Cost of rent
  • Are bills (electricity, water, internet) included in the rent, or do you have to pay these on top of the rent?
  • Travel between campus and your accommodation
