Multiple subjects at Keele ranked in NSS UK Top 5
Four subjects at Keele have been ranked among the Top 5 in the UK for student positivity in the 2024 National Student Survey (NSS), with a further four subjects ranked in the Top 10.
Human Resource Management at Keele came 1st in the UK, with Chemistry, Geography and Mental Health Nursing also ranked in the Top 5, while Mathematics rocketed more than 50 places from last year’s ranking to place 9th in the UK.
Other subjects to rank highly for student positivity in this year’s survey include Film and Media Studies, Human Biology and Midwifery, with students ranking a number of factors related to the teaching, resources, academic support, and learning opportunities on these courses 1st in the UK and strongly praising the courses in their feedback.
The NSS is a high-profile annual survey of nearly half a million final year undergraduate students across the UK. The survey gathers opinions from students about their time in higher education, asking them to provide honest feedback on what it has been like to study on their course at their university or college.
Professor Mark Ormerod, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost, said: "As a national survey of all final year students studying in the UK, the NSS is an important measure of student positivity. I am delighted that four of our subjects have been ranked in the UK Top 5 for student positivity, including Human Resource Management being ranked 1st in the UK nationally, Chemistry and Geography both ranking 4th , and Mental Health Nursing 5th, as well as a number of other courses across all three of our Faculties ranking in the Top 10.
“As a university with a strong commitment to excellence in both education and research, these levels of positivity set the bar for all our subjects at Keele.”
