Celebrating the first anniversary of the Keele University International College

Students, lecturers, and partners from a variety of cultures and backgrounds came together this week to celebrate the first anniversary of the Keele University International College.
The College was established in 2022 to give international students new opportunities to access higher education with Keele, with the first intake starting their studies in September 2022.
Founded in partnership with leading global education provider Navitas, the College delivers programmes at foundation, undergraduate first-year, and pre-Master's levels, as well as pre-sessional English, all endorsed by Keele and aligned with the University’s own curriculum.
This week’s event was held to celebrate not only one year since the College’s first cohort began their studies, but also the different cultures among the student cohort. The students themselves were also celebrated, with special awards presented to some of its highest achieving students.
Professor Trevor McMillan, Vice-Chancellor of Keele University, said: "I am delighted to see that the Keele University International College has gone from strength to strength in its first year. International students form an integral part of the Keele community, and the College is an excellent example of our commitment to working with partners to deliver a world-class education to students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.”
Dr Christian Gerstner, College Director and Principal of Keele University International College, said: “The past year has shown what can be achieved when people with shared values and mission come together to open doors to transformational experiences to international students. We are excited for the year ahead and embedding our partnership further, as we welcome new students joining us this semester.”
Paul Lovegrove, Navitas CEO and Global Chief Operating Officer, added: “One year ago, Keele University International College welcomed more than 160 students from 16 countries as part of its first cohort of international students, and I am delighted to celebrate their success and that of the College. Keele University and Navitas share a passion and commitment in providing the very best student experience, learning opportunities and outcomes, and the success of our students is testament to that.”
